Fitness Class Descriptions:
Zumba: Join the millions of people who have decided that having fun and working out are not mutually exclusive. Join the party!
Total Body: This muscular conditioning class works all major muscles using hand-held weights, bands and tubes. This class focuses on toning and strengthening.
Core Body: This workout promotes strength, stability
and coordination. This great workout uses balls and non-resistant training methods to tone the abs, back and obliques.
Jazzercise: This well-rounded workout combines elements of jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, kickboxing and more for all ages and fitness levels.
Totally Toned: This cardio, strength and endurance workout uses hand-held weights, tubes, bands, bars and a variety of other equipment to tone the body. This is a great workout for the WHOLE FAMILY.
Tot Time: Adults can bring children between the ages of 3 and 7 to the Family Fitness Center to play age-appropriate games.
Women On Weights: Using free weights, students in this class will help define muscles through
isolation and concentration with
one-on-one assistance from a qualified
instructor.
Body Fit: All are welcome to take part in this overall body workout with some added cardio. Toning, stretching and flexibility will be emphasized in this class.
Yoga: Each class will help students develop strength, flexibility, balance and concentration
while emphasizing body alignment, spinal extension, muscular balance and the subtleties of breath. Please inquire about the class schedule at the front desk.
Instructors Choice: All are welcome to participate in this high-energy workout set to upbeat music. This class consists of basic step, aerobic and kickboxing routines. Strength and stretching exercises will be incorporated.
Group Cycling: This great cardio journey uses
stationary bikes. This workout includes jumps, climbs and sprints. This is
interval training at its best. The class is set to motivational music. Those who wish to attend should show up no more than 30 minutes before class begins to get a numbers to reserve bikes.
Silver Sneakers: Have fun and move to music through a variety of exercises designed to increase
your muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living skills. Hand-held weighs, elastictubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance. Chairs are used for support.
Senior Walk: Free to Adults between September1, 2009 to May 31, 2010 at the Main Street YMCA and the Garrett Community YMCA. Adults can walk laps in our gyms to help maintain a healthy lifestyle and to make friends.
Saturday Mixer: Our Instructor leads a fun filled class which includes whole body workout, toning, stretching, strengthing and heart pumping exercises. Start your weeekend off on track. All ages welcome. |
